As a senior Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You’ll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site.
Key job responsibilities
– Manage your team on-site, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams across the company
– Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisions
– Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies
– Drive programs designed to improve the safety culture in Amazon
A day in the life
This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You’ll also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements.
Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity. You’ll step in and take ownership of health and safety to foster a culture that revolves around operating safely.

– Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language

The successful candidate will identify, coordinate and drive improvements in inbound safety, quality and productivity, working with the Operations Management teams to continuously improve the functionality and level of service that the Fulfilment Centre provides to our customers.

Key job responsibilities
You will be managing aspects of output in your area: people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. The extent of your duties will include:
• Managing the health and safety function at the FC, including supervision of staff to ensure delivery of objectives.
• Proactively engaging in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites
• Providing authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
• Reviewing and auditing arrangements for health & safety management and continuously improving these arrangements where appropriate.
• Providing strategies to plan and organise work systems to reduce health & safety risks and recommending suitable adaptations to plant, machinery and processes.
• Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for H&S statistics.
• Providing management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
• Supporting business change through effective change management processes within the fast paced FC environment.
• Driving behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi shift operation.
• Implementation and review of company global safety policies ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met

To help us achieve this, we’re seeking an enthusiastic Safety Specialist. With your Bias for Action we will need you to step in and support the Health and Safety (EHS) team in one of our Fulfillment Centers.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, innovative and hands-on individual who is passionate about Health and Safety in a professional context. In time, we’ll expect you to become as customer-centric as we are and apply this to your work each day.
You will also need to be able to identify, coordinate and drive improvements in Safety, while engaging operational and other support function stakeholders. The Safety Specialist will report directly to the Fulfillment Center EHS Manager.
Key job responsibilities
Your responsibilities:
– Assisting with the delivery of safety performance and monitoring, in line with personnel, team and functional goals and objectives,
– Facilitating and/or arranging training programs on critical Fulfillment Center EHS issues,
– Supporting the implementation of EHS programs within Fulfillment Center Operations, while delivering key risk assessment activities,
– Driving compliance with local and EU legislation,
– Ensuring that EHS systems are kept accurate at all times, with completed incident reports, alongside all supporting documentation,
– Assisting the EHS Manager with the construction of incident prevention programs,
– Contributing to Fulfillment Center requests for improvement of on-site safety and positively impact accident trends,
– Preparing responses to insurers or solicitors in response to any personal injury claims,
– Participating in the EU Fulfillment Center EHS Safety Audit Programme,
– Assisting with the coordination and training of new Health and Safety team members,
– Acting as a proxy for the EHS Manager, as and when required,
– Arranging, facilitating and contributing to Fulfillment Center Safety Steering Committee meetings,
– Arranging and conducting basic surveys and checks in the Fulfillment Center environment, looking into facility processes, Health and Safety supplies as well as employee behaviors.
REQUISITOS BÁSICOS
– Master degree in Occupational Health and Safety (“Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales”), including Safety, Hygiene and Ergonomic according to Spanish Health and Safety regulations.
– Understanding of Spanish Environment, Health and Safety legislation
– Advanced proficiency in (local language) and fluent English

A day in the life
You’ll be based on one of our sortation centres. Being on site means that you can keep a close eye on the processes. That means working closely with people across the business to get to know the risks they experience and gathering data to identify smarter and safer ways that we can work. You’ll also set up training and other programs to help everyone follow new safety processes and reach new standards.
